I love home décor, curling up with a good book, traveling to new places, finding quaint towns to explore, spending time with family and friends, baking scrumptious desserts, coffee, and chocolate!
Ever since I can remember, I have enjoyed setting up “house.” When I was little, my grandmother had the frame of an old swing set in her backyard, swings long gone. She would let me pull out her chenille bedspreads and handmade quilts (yes, I cringe at the thought of that now too!) to make a fancy “tent” and I would play away for hours, decorating the “rooms” with paper lanterns, flowers, and any “pretty” thing I could get my hands on! I would also rearrange and redecorate my bedroom just as often as my mom would let me! As I grew older, I enjoyed helping friends with their rooms and, eventually, their homes and they began to encourage me to think about pursuing decorating as a career.
I dreamed of being an interior decorator for years before finally making the leap to pursue that dream. I am just beginning this journey, and I am so excited to share it with you!
The shop:
I’ve done all kinds of “crafts” through the years that I would sell at various markets. I started Par la Grâce in 2014 making Christmas ornaments and wood signs. It has since grown to include other home décor items.
The name:
“Par la Grâce” is French for “by grace”… As I was praying for a name for my business several years ago, I was so overwhelmed by God’s grace in my life and the journey He had brought me through to bring me to the point of creating things as a business. It is only by God’s grace that I am what I am and that I have been given the gift to create beautiful things for His glory!
