Happy Monday! I have some new friends here and it' Happy Monday! I have some new friends here and it's been a little while since I introduced myself, so... (Picture No. 1) Hi, I'm Jessica!😊
.
I dreamed up and designed the plans for a little cottage (No 2), which I named Magnolia Rose Cottage. It's English country inspired with a touch of southern charm!
.
My dad is helping me as we DIY this build (No. 3-5) and make my dream become a reality! My goal is to be moved in by my 40th birthday, which is July 2nd!
.
I also enjoy growing flowers (No. 6) and herbs and am currently building a large cut flower, English rose (@david_austin_roses) and herb garden as well!
.
I have an online shop where I offer clean burning candles, vintage inspired prints, (No. 7-8) and curated home decor for a simple, cottage lifestyle. My shop page is @parlagraceshoppe and my website is shop.parlagrace.com. However, I'm about to put my shop on vacation so that I can focused on my cottage build and garden for the summer.
.
I have 11 siblings! (Yes, you read that right!) And with my in-laws and nieces and nephews, we make up quite the crowd (No. 9), but it's so much fun!
.
I haven't been blessed with a little family of my own (Yet... Still praying for someday!), but I absolutely love being "Auntie Jess" to my seven nieces and nephews. (No. 10)
.
I do have a blog, which is terribly out of date, but I hope to start sharing some more detailed posts about the building process and plans for decorating my cottage soon! You can find my blog at www.parlagrace.com
.
Other than that, I am currently studying to become an interior designer and I enjoy traveling, curling up with a good book, cooking and baking, coffee, and spending time with my family and friends! If there's anything else you would like to know, please feel free to ask!❤️
.
I would love to know more about you! Comment below and tell me which state your from and maybe some other interesting fact about yourself!
.
Hope you each have a blessed week!💕

Happy Saturday! Just in case you missed my stories Happy Saturday! Just in case you missed my stories yesterday, I wanted to share this here as a post as well! We were able to get the upstairs decked, the ridgepole up, and started on the rafters yesterday! While we still have a LONG way to go, but Magnolia Rose Cottage is looking more and more like a house! It is such fun to see my vision and design come to life before my eyes!😍
.
While I have been sharing lots of updates in stories, I have not shared a lot of the building process here on my feed. I guess because building is messy, sweaty, hard work, and not "pretty" like the rest of my posts... But I was wondering, would you like to see more posts about the building process here? Or should I keep that all in my stories? Let me know in the comments!
.
I hope you all have a wonderful, blessed weekend!💕
.
P.S. If you are new here, be sure to check out my Reels for a virtual tour of my cottage design!🏡

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend! Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was busy (building walls, planting, family time, church crawfish boil, church, etc.), but good! We didn't get as much done on the cottage as hoped, as we are waiting on a delivery with the joists and rafters, but hopefully those will come this week!
.
On Saturday one of my sisters and her good friend came over to see what we have done on the cottage so far and, while they were there, I asked them to write their favorite Scripture verses on the cottage frame. My friend, Mary, @blueridge.cottage shared this idea with their new home and I absolutely loved it! So, I'm planning to ask everyone who visits to write their favorite verse and, by the time we are done building, I'm hoping that my cottage frame will be covered in Scriptures and I will move in knowing I am surrounded by truths and promises from God's Word!
.
I wish I could have you all come visit but, as I can't, I would love to know which scripture you would write! Please share in the comments below or send me a DM - and I will write them on my cottage! I would love for you to be part of building my home this way!💕
.
"Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul... And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates: That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children..."
Deuteronomy 11:18‭a, ‬20‭-‬21a

Hi friends! Did you see my stories this past weeke Hi friends! Did you see my stories this past weekend? If so, you will know that I've decided to plant a little more than just roses this year! I decided to go ahead and plant an entire cut flower garden over by my workshop! I'm probably taking on a bit more than I can handle, considering that my cottage building project is *finally* underway... But I just couldn't wait another entire year before planting some flowers!🌷
.
One thing I'm planning to plant (and hopefully grow!) is dahlias. I have never grown dahlias before, and I'll admit that I'm a little nervous about it... So I'm spending every spare minute researching the best way to prepare beds and grow them - and this book by Erin @floretflower has been sooo helpful! So, here's hoping that I can actually do this and that I'm not getting in over my head!🙏🏻
.
Have you grown dahlias before? If so, I would LOVE to hear and advice you might have! Please comment below or DM me!💕
.
P.S. If you missed my stories and the sneak peek of my new garden layout, you can find it in my highlights under "Flower Garden 22"

Happy Monday my friends! I hope this finds you all Happy Monday my friends! I hope this finds you all having a wonderful start to your week!
.
If you saw my stories over the weekend, you saw that two exciting things happened last week!
.
First, after four long months of waiting, we were finally able to get a plumber out to do the rough-in plumbing for the cottage!!🙌🏻 Which means we can now move forward with the building process and hopefully have the slab poured by next weekend!!🙏🏻
.
The second thing is - I got some new rose bushes! If you've followed me for long, you know that my absolute favorite roses are @david_austin_roses! I was able to grow some at the townhouse but, sadly, most of my bushes did not make the move well. So I reorder some of my favorites and also chose a few new varieties! I shared all about how I've planted them for now in stories but, if you missed it, you can find it in my highlights under Roses 2022!🌹
.
Praying you all have a blessed week!💕
Hi friends! I hope you are all having a wonderful Hi friends! I hope you are all having a wonderful week!
.
I just had to share this sweet vintage print with you all! It truly paints the perfect picture of what I envision my cottage will be... Old-world charm, potted plants, fresh cut flowers, a good book always at hand, and a simple life that allows for time to sit and gaze out the window at my garden!
.
I am so very excited to have the opportunity to add this print to my shop! (Did you know I had one?!) I just put up this print, as well as some others I equally love, and lots of other items so that my shop is now filled with spring goodness! If you are interested in finding out more, you can visit my shop at shop.parlagrace.com - or follow along my new IG account @parlagraceshoppe!💕
Spending a slow Saturday morning enjoying my coffe Spending a slow Saturday morning enjoying my coffee and new book from @victoriamagazine, one of my absolute favorite sources for inspiration! Dreaming of the garden I want to create once my cottage build is complete...🏡🌹

I hope you all are having a beautiful weekend, my friends!💕

Thank you so much to everyone who voted in my stories this past weekend! I always appreciate your input! A few of you voted for Magnolia Cottage, and even more for Rose Cottage, but Magnolia Rose was very obviously the favorite! And I think it very fitting for my little cottage, a European inspired cottage in the Mississippi countryside!
.
This is where Magnolia Rose will be on my little plot, right behind the magnolia tree! And I can't wait to choose the roses I will be planting all around!
.
Thank you all so much for you interest in my cottage building journey! Your support and encouragement means so much, and I hope you will continue to follow along as my dream for my new home becomes a reality!💕
STORYBOOK LOFT INSPO . Happy Wednesday! Did you ca STORYBOOK LOFT INSPO
.
Happy Wednesday! Did you catch my stories over the weekend? I was talking about naming my cottage and asked for everyone's thoughts... If you're one of my friends who voted on a name, thank you!! Your input always helps so much! I'll be sharing the name I chose tomorrow, so be sure to check back!
.
In the meantime, here is another inspo pic from Pinterest for my storybook loft! I kind of like the bright, all white look of this one. My loft won't have the skylights, just the one little window, so I'm wondering if all white might be a good idea... What would you do, fun, cozy colors or all white and bright? Let me know in the comments!
.
I hope you have a beautiful day!💕

I found this picture on Pinterest and it's what inspired my idea for the mini window seat in my Storybook Loft. (If you missed the virtual tour, be sure to go watch the Reel in my last post!)
.
I'm planning to fill the loft with unique, old-fashioned, and educational toys. Do you have some favorite places you get toys for your little ones? If so, I would love for you to share and tag them below!!

Have a great week, my friends!💕
This morning, around 2:45, I heard a knock at my d This morning, around 2:45, I heard a knock at my door, followed by one of my sisters popping her head in to say, "It's snowing!! You've got to come see it!"❄️
.
Now, I know for some of you who have had more than enough snow already, that might seem a little crazy... But for us, here in the south, if it's snowing in the middle of the night and you want to see it, you had better get up and take a look - because there is no guarantee it will still be there in the morning! So, we stayed up until 4:00 watching the big, beautiful snowflakes fall!
.
However, this time it was still here in the morning! It continued to snow and piled up to over 4 inches which, for us in south Mississippi, is a rare treat indeed!
.
I enjoyed it from the coziness of indoors, but my sisters went out to explore! Isn't it just beautiful?! I love how the fresh snow makes everything so white and clean! It's reminds me of the verse in Isaiah 1:18 that says, "Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow." Seeing the beauty and brightness of the snow this morning reminded me how Jesus can cover our sins and make even the ugly and broken in us beautiful and new - just like the snow!❄️
.
I hope that you all have a had a blessed Sunday!💕
.

COTTAGE LOFT INSPO . As much as I love the idea of COTTAGE LOFT INSPO
.
As much as I love the idea of my desk in front of the window (see last post), here is another idea from Pinterest that I equally adore - a window seat!😍
.
Which would you choose? To have a desk under the window or bookshelves with a window seat? Comment below and let me know or head to my stories to vote!
.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend sweet friends!💕
